Sri Lanka is located in the northern hemisphere, 350 kms north of the Equator in the Indian Ocean. The island has a surface area of 65,525 square kilometres (430 kms north/south and 225 kms east to west) and there is a 1,600 kilometre stretch of coastline.
La Maison Nil Manel is situated south of Colombo on a coastline fringed with sandy beaches and coconut groves. This is a very special place to come home to and recharge your batteries before or after a trip into the interior of Ceylon.
Another option is to spend your whole holiday here and take time out to explore the gems of these coastal surroundings located between the lagoon and the sea.

Best time to go?

We are open all year round. For the best sunshine aim to come between November and April.
If festivals are your thing (Perahera in Kandy, Kataragama) aim to come in July or August (inter-monsoon period so be prepared for the odd shower).
Down on the south-west coast, the climate is tropical, hot and humid with rainy seasons in May and June (main monsoon) and September/October (lesser monsoon period).
Temperatures remain the same throughout the year except in April/May, the hottest months of the year (35°).
